1. Lead-acid battery pack
- Features: Lead-acid batteries are one of the most traditional energy storage batteries, divided into liquid lead-acid batteries and valve-regulated lead-acid batteries (AGM and Gel types). They are usually used in more economical energy storage systems with lower initial investment costs.
- Voltage range: The voltage of lead-acid battery packs is generally 12V, 24V, 48V, but higher voltages such as 192V, 240V can be achieved by parallel or series connection.
- Application: Suitable for larger off-grid systems, backup power systems, agriculture or solar energy storage systems in remote areas. Although they are lower in cost, their efficiency and service life are usually worse than lithium batteries.
2. Lithium battery pack
- Features: Lithium battery packs (such as lithium iron phosphate batteries, nickel cobalt manganese batteries, etc.) are superior to lead-acid batteries in terms of energy density, efficiency, service life and safety. They can operate at higher charge and discharge efficiency and have a longer service life.
- Voltage range: Lithium batteries usually have a higher voltage and can be found in multiple voltage levels such as 48V, 96V, 192V, 240V, etc. Lithium battery packs are suitable for high-voltage systems due to their high energy density and flexible design.
- Application: Widely used in high-power demand fields such as commercial and industrial solar energy storage systems and electric vehicle charging stations. Lithium batteries have become the first choice for more and more efficient energy storage systems due to their superior performance.
3. Sodium-sulfur battery (NaS)
- Features: Sodium-sulfur batteries are a high-temperature battery with very high energy density and long service life. They operate at high temperatures and usually require a dedicated thermal management system.
- Voltage range: Sodium-sulfur battery packs usually have a higher operating voltage and are suitable for large-scale energy storage systems, with a voltage range of several hundred volts to kilovolts.
- Application: Sodium-sulfur batteries are often used in large-scale grid-level energy storage systems, especially in application scenarios that require fast response and high energy output.
4. Solid-state battery pack
- Features: Solid-state batteries are an emerging battery technology that uses solid electrolytes instead of liquid or gel electrolytes. They have higher energy density and better safety, especially under high temperature conditions.
- Voltage range: The voltage range of solid-state batteries is usually higher, up to hundreds of volts, suitable for high-voltage energy storage systems.
- Application: Currently, solid-state batteries are mostly used in research and experimental stages, but as technology advances, they are expected to become the mainstream choice for future electric vehicles, commercial energy storage systems and solar energy applications.
